Ikorodu Federal Rep Receives IKODASS Community Builder Award

-Fulfils pledge to Church

Mr Rotimi Erogbogbo, Chairman, IKODASS presenting Community Builder award to Rep. Babajimi Benson, in recognition of his quality representation.

The quality representations of Rep. Babajimi Benson, the representative of the Ikorodu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has continued to attract honours and accolades from his constituents.

The performing lawmaker was honoured with the Community Builder award by the Ikorodu – Oga Development Association (IKODASS), at the flag – off of the Akin Ogunlewe Crescent, on Saturday.

Rep. Benson, who is the Chairman, House Committee on Defense, receiving the award from Mr Rotimi Erogbogbo, the IKODASS Chairman who was accompanied by some members of his executives, said that the award is highly valued.

“IKODASS surprised me today with this award as the community developer, and I love the sculptor used in making the award”, he said.

“I will be taking the award to my home in Abuja, and place it somewhere in my library. I thank the IKODASS executives for deeming me worthy of this community builder award”.

At the ceremony, residents of White House area, Ikorodu Grammar School, also presented the lawmaker with a frame and letter of appreciation for installing solar lights in their area.

Presenting the award to Rep. Benson, Erogbogbo said that the lawmaker is deserving because of his impact on the community.

Meanwhile, the federal lawmaker has fulfilled his pledge to the United African Methodist Cathedral Church (Eleja), Igbogbo, by presenting the Church with a Chevrolet bus.

He made the pledge last year in honour of late APC chieftain, Chief Adenrele Olowu.

He handed over the bus to the Bishop of the Church, in the presence of dignitaries which included Sen. Adeseye Ogunlewe, former Minister for Works, Hon. Adebimpe Akinsola, former Commissioner for Tourism, Mr Hameed Olalekan Aroyewun, former aspirant for the Ikorodu Constituency II seat, and Mr Yinka Ogunlaja, Supervisory Councilor for Primary Health, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA.

Hon. Wasiu Adedayo Olowu, who spoke with THE IMPACT at the Church, thanked the lawmaker for fulfilling his pledge.

“On behalf of the entire Olowu family, I want to thank Hon. Babajimi Benson for fulfilling his pledge. He made the promise on the 30th of September, 2022, and it is being fulfilled today, 13th of May 2023”, he said.

“The bus was donated to the Church in memory of our late dad, Chief Reuben Adenrele Oladele Olowu.

“We pray that God Almighty shall continue to strengthen MHR, Hon. Babajimi Benson, for the service of humanity. Amen”.

Mr Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun also thanked the lawmaker for all his projects in Igbogbo, and for bringing about goodness in his federal constituency.
